Softball Recap: Pine Grove's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pine Grove had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Panther Valley Panthers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in April.

Chelcy Clark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Addison Zimmerman was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Madison Shiffer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Pine Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pine Grove's record is now 18-2. As for Panther Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Pine Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Panther Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mahanoy Area at 12:00 p.m. The Golden Bears will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
