Softball Recap: Mishicot Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Mishicot's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's seventh consecutive shutout on Saturday. They blew past Kewaskum 6-0. Considering Mishicot has won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Kiran Sanford's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Eva Boness and Sierra Skarda did most of the damage at the plate: Boness went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Skarda went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Skarda has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kasey Brouchoud, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Mishicot pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Kewaskum, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.

Looking ahead, Mishicot will be playing in front of their home fans against Denmark at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kewaskum, they will venture away from home to challenge Kettle Moraine Lutheran at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.9, the Chargers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
