Basketball Recap: Bloomfield's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Bloomfield was the 42-38 winner over Taos when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Bloomfield Bobcats received a blow on Friday as they fell 59-43 to the Taos Tigers. The game marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost, don't look at Kaydin Nelson. Despite the final result, he posted four points.

Taos' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trevor Tibljas led the charge by putting up 15 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Tibljas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Salazar, who had eight points along with five assists and five boards.

With the defeat, Bloomfield broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for Taos, their record is now 3-1.

Bloomfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Bloomfield likes a good challenge. As for Taos, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-54 loss against Robertson on the 14th.
