Preview: Dillon Christian Warriors vs. Lake View Wild Gators
Dillon Christian is 0-7 against Lake View since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dillon Christian Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Lake View Wild Gators at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Dillon Christian's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 50-20 win over Southeastern Christian Academy on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Dillon Christian has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lake View can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Latta 63-36 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Lake View sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Lake View's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Gwendasia Page, who scored 21 points, and Jaleya Ford, who scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Page has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'Kiyah Waters, who scored six points.
Dillon Christian's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5. As for Lake View, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
Dillon Christian was dealt a bruising 62-26 loss at the hands of Lake View in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ford, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds.
