Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian Academy had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 7-9 to make it five. They lost 10-1 to the Dock Mennonite Pioneers. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Calvary Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Rose, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Dock Mennonite, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3. Considering they have won eight contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Dock Mennonite's side, Ethan Kratz and Brayden Kratz did most of the damage at the plate: Ethan went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Brayden went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Ethan a new career-high. Rylan Purnell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Calvary Christian Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Valley Forge Military Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Dock Mennonite, they will welcome Bristol at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
