Football Recap: Deseret Peak Takes a Loss

Deseret Peak fell victim to Richfield and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Wildcats 47-0. The Golden Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Karter Stroyek threw for 129 yards on seven of 31 attempts. William Hymer was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.

Richfield was led to victory by Cord White and Colton White. Cord rushed for 78 yards and one TD on only ten carries, while Colton rushed for 43 yards and a pair of scores. Colton also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass.

Deseret Peak's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Richfield, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Deseret Peak will face off against Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Golden Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Richfield, they will venture away from home to take on North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
