York won the last time they faced Richland Northeast and things went their way on Tuesday too. The York Cougars had just enough and edged the Richland Northeast Cavaliers out 52-50.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead York to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Smith, who went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Love, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Richland Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmanuel Ard, who earned 14 points and five boards. Joshua Nunn was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

York's win bumped their record up to 4-20. As for Richland Northeast, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-21.

York and Richland Northeast could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. York (ranked 201st) will meet Lancaster (ranked fourth) at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. York is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. Similarly, Richland Northeast will face off against South Pointe at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 147 places (191 vs. 44).
