Basketball Recap: Woodcreek Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Woodcreek extended their road winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Michael Kirby, Jr.. The Woodcreek Timberwolves walked away with a 66-58 win over the Roseville Tigers on Friday thanks in part to Kirby, Jr., who went 10 for 14 en route to 29 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Roseville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Ritter, who posted 15 points along with six assists and five steals. Ritter is becoming a predictor of Roseville's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 12-5 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Matthias Howard, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points and six boards.

Woodcreek's record now sits at 17-5. As for Roseville, they moved to 14-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Woodcreek and Roseville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Woodcreek will take on Ponderosa at 7:30 p.m. on Monday up 627 places (58 vs. 685). Woodcreek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Roseville (ranked 314th) will meet Yuba City (ranked 787th) at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
