Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue Redmen vs. Perkins Pirates

The Bellevue Redmen will challenge the Perkins Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellevue will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Bellevue earned a 67-54 victory over Shelby. Given the Redmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Whippets are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Perkins was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 39-35 to Port Clinton.

Bellevue pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Perkins, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Bellevue against Perkins when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 61-27 victory. Will Bellevue repeat their success, or does Perkins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
