Football Recap: Avon Lake Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Avon Lake kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They and the Strongsville Mustangs were almost perfectly matched up, but the Shoremen suffered a 43-42 loss. The Shoremen were up 36-22 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Coming up, Avon Lake will challenge Lake Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Strongsville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Olmsted Falls at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
