Less than six hours after crafting a plan to move state high school basketball games back a few days in order to finish the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament, the games were canceled Thursday afternoon after Gov. John Carney declared a state of emergency, Delaware Online reported.

No champions will be crowned and the eight remaining teams will each be given a Final Four trophy, reports said.

There was no word from the DIAA whether spring sports would be affected.
