Volleyball Recap: Bellflower Takes a Loss

If Bellflower was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Whittier Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bellflower Buccaneers came up short against the Peninsula Panthers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-20.

Geovanny Sanchez paced Bellflower's offense, picking up eight kills. Sanchez got some help from Aydan Flores and his 19 assists. Sanchez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bellflower fell to 3-1. As for Peninsula, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Bellflower will be playing at home against Lakewood at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Peninsula, they will head out to square off against West at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
