After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Excelsior Springs, Winnetonka was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Raytown South Cardinals 3-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Griffins as it put an end to their six-match losing streak.

Winnetonka never let Raytown South on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-4.

MacKenzie Turner paced Winnetonka's offense, picking up eight kills. Turner got some help from Shayla Nguyen and her 36 assists. Lan-An Tran controlled things from the service line, finishing with 15 aces.

Winnetonka's victory bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Raytown South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Winnetonka wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Chrisman on the 29th. As for Raytown South, they will head out to face off against Excelsior Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
