It was a good run, but Warren unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Hamburg Lions by a score of 4-3. The Lumberjacks were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Warren saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Spears, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Spears' first of the season. Antonio Jordan was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Warren's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Hamburg, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren will square off against Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hamburg, they will venture away from home to face off against McGehee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Owls have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
