Basketball Recap: Christian Rogan Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

There's no place like home for Calvary Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over the Ansonia Tigers on Saturday. The Spartans pushed the score to 44-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Calvary Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Rogan led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 16 points and three steals. Rogan has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Wylie, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Ansonia, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian will venture away from home to square off against Temple Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ansonia, they will head out to challenge Newton Local at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
