Basketball Game Preview: Theodore Bobcats vs. Saraland Spartans

Theodore has gone 10-0 against Saraland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Theodore Bobcats will face off against the Saraland Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Theodore will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Theodore can't be too worried about heading out to take on Saraland: they just beat Blount at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Theodore escaped with a win on Tuesday against Blount by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40.

Theodore found their leader in freshman Parklyn Floyd, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Floyd's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Saraland came up short against Murphy on Tuesday and fell 43-33. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Theodore will need focus on slowing down Elle Roberts, one of several Saraland players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points and eight rebounds. Roberts has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Knight, who put up nine points.

Theodore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Saraland, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Theodore took their victory against Saraland when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 50-25. Will Theodore repeat their success, or does Saraland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
