Preview: Chilton Pirates vs. Falls City Beavers
The Chilton Pirates will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Falls City Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. One thing working in Chilton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Chilton had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They didn't even let Granger onto the board and left with a 45-0 win on Friday. Chilton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight games by 26 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Falls City waltzed into Friday's contest with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They slipped by Bremond 21-20.
It was another big night for Braylon Johnson, who rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Johnson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Their wins bumped Chilton to 12-1 and Granger to 10-3.
Chilton was taken down by Falls City 41-7 in their previous matchup back in November of 2019. Thankfully for Chilton, Brady Lyssy (who rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
