Baseball Recap: Palmerton Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

It's playoff time, and Palmerton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pen Argyl Green Knights 3-2. The Blue Bombers haven't had any issues with the Green Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jason Carrelli was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Greyson Ahner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Palmerton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Palmerton's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Pen Argyl, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.
