Basketball Recap: Rossville Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Rossville Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Overton Wolverines.

Despite the loss, Rossville Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Georgia Ahlstrom, who posted 17 points. That was a full 40.5% of Rossville Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kimora Wooden, who had 12 points.

Overton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nia Smith out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards. Smith has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kierra Baldwin, who went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Rossville Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Overton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Rossville Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-36 victory against Southwind on the 27th. As for Overton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-38 win against Memphis Central on the 27th.
