Volleyball Recap: Central Davidson Takes a Loss

Central Davidson lost against Oak Grove back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Grizzlies.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-15.

Lauren Chesney paced Central Davidson's offense, picking up five kills. Chesney really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with two. Finally, Samantha Boaz kept Central Davidson's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Chloe Smith was a one-woman wrecking crew For Oak Grove. as she had 18 digs and two assists.

Central Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Oak Grove, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Davidson will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Carson at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Grove, they will take on Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
