Softball Preview: Hamilton County Foxes vs. Benton Rangers

The Hamilton County Foxes will venture away from home to take on the Benton Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hamilton County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Hamilton County took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Flora 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Foxes as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Colebie Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over 12 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run.

In other batting news, Kelsie Ashcraft was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one home run.
