Baseball Recap: Challis Comes Up Short

Challis lost against Grangeville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Vikings fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 14-13. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Garrison Applegate was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Roy Jones was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Challis' loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1. As for Grangeville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Challis has already played their next contest, a 14-8 win against Glenns Ferry on the 12th. As for Grangeville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Orofino on the 15th.
