Softball Recap: Broadalbin-Perth Gets the Win

Broadalbin-Perth never let their opponents score on Monday. They came out on top against the Amsterdam Rams by a score of 3-0. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

Adrianna Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alea Ransom, who went 1-for-4 with one triple.

Broadalbin-Perth has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Broadalbin-Perth will take on rival South Glens Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Amsterdam is set to square off against their familiar foe Scotia-Glenville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
