Union County had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 55-16 win over the Milan Indians. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Katie McCashland had an outrageously good game as she went 8 for 14 en route to 21 points plus seven steals. Another player making a difference was Ally Gray, who posted six points plus two steals.

Union County was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milan only posted three.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tryniti Reed, who earned nine points plus two steals. The dominant performance also gave Reed a new career-high in threes (two).

Union County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Morristown at 6:00 p.m. on November 19th. Milan has already played their next matchup, a 67-37 loss against South Ripley on the 12th.
