Basketball Recap: Kern Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Frazier Mountain last Friday, Kern Valley came back down to earth. The Kern Valley Broncs took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosamond Roadrunners on Tuesday. The Broncs have struggled against the Roadrunners recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Kern Valley still got an impressive performance from Aiden Madden, who posted 26 points. Madden has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zane Carver, who had six points and ten rebounds.

Kern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Rosamond, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kern Valley will head out to square off against California City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. California City will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Kern Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rosamond, they will head out on the road to challenge Desert at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Desert's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
