Basketball Recap: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Trenton Tigers
The Tom Bean Tomcats can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Trenton 47-27. Given Tom Bean's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 794th, while the Tigers are ranked 1628th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tom Bean got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Branson Ashlock out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was CJ Richter, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Tom Bean pushed their record up to 22-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Trenton, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.
Tom Bean will head out on the road to square off against the Wolves at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wolfe City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Trenton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. Celeste is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
