Baseball Game Preview: Key Obezags vs. St. Frances Academy Panthers

The Key Obezags will head out to take on the St. Frances Academy Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Key is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Key came out on top against Pallotti on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Obezags skirted past the Panthers 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Obezags.

Sean Flynn was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of John Fisher, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Frances Academy can now relate to. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost eight in a row.

Key's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for St. Frances Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Key couldn't quite finish off St. Frances Academy in their previous meeting on Friday and fell 6-4. Can the Obezags avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
