Softball Recap: Inter-City Baptist Sets Scoring Season-High Against Oakland Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Inter-City Baptist). Everything went their way against the Oakland Christian Lancers on Thursday as they made off with a 19-8 win. Considering the Chargers have won three matchups by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Smith was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. Those triples were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Harrison, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

Inter-City Baptist always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Inter-City Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Oakland Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Inter-City Baptist will welcome Southfield Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakland Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Memphis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
