Basketball Recap: Augusta Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Taylor Booker and Makenna Ellis

On Tuesday, the Augusta Christian Lions lost to the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders at home by a 49-34 margin. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Augusta Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Makenna Ellis and Taylor Booker. Ellis posted 11 points, while Booker had eight points.

Northside Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Evie Godfrey, who put up 21 points and eight steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Godfrey has scored at least a third of Northside Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Chaelyn Tifre, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Augusta Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Northside Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Augusta Christian will challenge Ben Lippen at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Ben Lippen has won three straight at home, while Augusta Christian won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will take on Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
