Baseball Recap: Edison Victorious

Edison proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Metuchen Bulldogs 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since May 8, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Robert Roma, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ray Tavarez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Edison is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Metuchen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Edison didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Sayreville on the 8th. As for Metuchen, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-2 loss against Monroe Township on the 8th.
