Soccer Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks. The Pumas were not able to make up for their loss to the Nighthawks from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Chaparral's record is now 1-6-1. As for Murrieta Valley, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Chaparral and Murrieta Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Chaparral will face off against Vista Murrieta at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday down 772 places (863 vs. 91). Meanwhile, Murrieta Valley (ranked 818th) will meet Temecula Valley (ranked 407th) at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
