Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest Area). They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Susquehanna Sabers on Friday. The Rangers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sabers, too.
Cody Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Dominic Cavuto was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Trevor Dietz was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
The win got Northwest Area back to even at 2-2.
Looking ahead, Northwest Area will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Susquehanna, they will welcome Mountain View at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
