Football Recap: Amador Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Amador Valley played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the De La Salle Spartans, falling 56-13. The Dons have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Amador Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Vincent Maiorana, who rushed for 100 yards and one score on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 70 yards. Anthony Harrington also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.

De La Salle had a senior duo take command as Brady Smith rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown on only five carries and Brayden Knight threw for 93 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Amador Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for De La Salle, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Amador Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monte Vista at 7:15 p.m. on the 31st. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Maiorana and Henry Lasker. As for De La Salle, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 56-7 win against San Ramon Valley on the 24th.
