Softball Recap: Santa Fe Sets Scoring Season-High Against Chiefland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Santa Fe). They were the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over the Chiefland Indians on Friday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Brooklyn McDougall looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on J'Lyn Guyden, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisen Crosby, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.

Santa Fe's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Chiefland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Santa Fe and Chiefland will both be playing Bell the next time they take the field. Chiefland will head out to face Bell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Santa Fe will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
