Volleyball Recap: Avery Humphrey and Audrey Gooding Secure Win for St. Thomas More

St. Thomas More won the last time they faced Tolono Unity and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sabers came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sabers.

St. Thomas More easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-20.

Leading St. Thomas More to victory were Audrey Gooding and Avery Humphrey. Gooding had five digs and five aces, while Humphrey had seven assists and three digs. Those five aces gave Gooding a new career-high. Lilly Schmidt also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

St. Thomas More's record now sits at 16-7. As for Tolono Unity, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

St. Thomas More has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Bloomington Central Catholic on the 7th. As for Tolono Unity, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Monticello on the 7th.
