Preview: Kenedy Lions vs. Woodsboro Eagles

The Kenedy Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Woodsboro Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kenedy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skidmore-Tynan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kenedy in their matchups with Skidmore-Tynan: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Woodsboro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Three Rivers 26-24. That's two games straight that Woodsboro has won by exactly two points.

Woodsboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaqulynn Tully led the charge by scoring 13 points along with two steals. Tully has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of L'emay Thompson, who scored two points.

Kenedy's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Woodsboro, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-20.

Kenedy strolled past Woodsboro in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 42-27. Will Kenedy repeat their success, or does Woodsboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
