Baseball Game Preview: Addison Knights vs. Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers

Addison has gone 8-2 against Canisteo-Greenwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Knights will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Chargers at 5:00 p.m. Addison will be strutting in after a win while Canisteo-Greenwood will be coming in after a loss.

Addison is headed out to face Canisteo-Greenwood after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went the Knights' way against Hammondsport on Friday as they made off with a 19-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won six in a row.

Tyler Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Miller was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Andrew Jones was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Westervelt, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Canisteo-Greenwood was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They lost 11-1 to Dansville.

Addison was able to grind out a solid victory over Canisteo-Greenwood when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
