Basketball Recap: Philip Victorious

If Jones County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Philip, they should've done a better job of containing Drew Terkildsen. The Philip Scotties walked away with a 47-40 win over the Jones County Coyotes on Tuesday thanks in part to Terkildsen, who posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.

Kale Peterson was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals. She is becoming a predictor of Philip's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when she doesn't).

Philip's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Jones County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Coming up, Philip will square off against Lyman at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jones County, they will take on Corsica/Stickney at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
