Volleyball Recap: Shae Valentin and Paige Sears Secure Win for Plainfield + How To Watch

Plainfield waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Killingly Trailbazers. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Trailbazers back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Plainfield took Killingly into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Plainfield was led to victory by Paige Sears and Shae Valentin. Sears had 38 assists and 22 digs, while Valentin had 40 digs and one assist. Those 22 digs gave Sears a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makayla Banas, who had 12 digs.

Plainfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive contests.

Plainfield now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Killingly, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Plainfield will be playing at home against Bacon Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Killingly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
