Basketball Recap: Brighter Horizons Academy Comes Up Short

Brighter Horizons Academy was the 54-51 winner over Grace Community when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Brighter Horizons Academy Stars received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 69-54 to the Grace Community Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Stars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1094th, while the Cougars are ranked 530th).

This is the second loss in a row for Brighter Horizons Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Grace Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighter Horizons Academy will face off against Regents at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Brighter Horizons Academy is facing Regents at the right time seeing as Regents is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Grace Community, they will challenge Brook Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Grace Community's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.
