Football Game Recap: Alleghany vs. West Wilkes

The last time they met, West Wilkes were the 34-27 winner over Alleghany. This time around? They had no such luck. West Wilkes suffered a grim 7-39 defeat to Alleghany on Friday. The state rankings had actually given West Wilkes a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

The loss dropped West Wilkes' record to 3-4. The win bumped Alleghany's record up to 3-4.

Next week West Wilkes take on Starmount at 7:30 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. As for Alleghany, they will face off against East Wilkes. East Wilkes are cruising in on a six-game winning streak.
