Soccer Recap: Boone Grove Falls to Kankakee Valley in First Game of Season

Boone Grove kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Kankakee Valley Kougars by a score of 3-2. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Boone Grove couldn't quite close it out.

Maison Coates and Josh Gillespie scored both of Boone Grove's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Kankakee Valley has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Boone Grove wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Portage on the 23rd. As for Kankakee Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Kouts on the 23rd.
