Football Game Preview: Lyndon Institute Vikings vs. Mt. Mansfield Cougars

The Lyndon Institute Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Mt. Mansfield Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lyndon Institute is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Lyndon Institute is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Burlington/South Burlington, who was ranked 13th at the time (Lyndon Institute was ranked 12th). The Vikings walked away with a 7-0 win over Burlington/South Burlington on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mt. Mansfield had to suffer through a 55-20 loss at the hands of Colchester. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Lakers: they've now lost five in a row.

Lyndon Institute's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Mt. Mansfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Lyndon Institute against Mt. Mansfield when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
