Softball Game Preview: Westampton Tech Panthers vs. Bergen Tech Knights

The Westampton Tech Panthers will challenge the Bergen Tech Knights at 4:15 a.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Westampton Tech is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Holy Cross just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Bergen Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against DePaul Catholic, falling 10-2.

Bergen Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Eliopoulos, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Westampton Tech's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Bergen Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Westampton Tech came out on top in a nail-biter against Bergen Tech when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 11-9. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
