Soccer Game Preview: Mount Vernon vs. North Lamar

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Mount Vernon duke it out with North Lamar at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Mount Vernon will be strutting in after a victory while North Lamar will be coming in after a defeat.

If North Lamar heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Mount Vernon took over last week. Mount Vernon beat Pleasant Grove by a goal, winning 3-2.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, North Lamar was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Paris.

North Lamar's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Mount Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
