Chavez scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by the Verdugo Hills Dons 77-36. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-22.

William Gharabekyan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 43 points and 20 rebounds for Verdugo Hills. What's more, Gharabekyan also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Jeffrey Moran was another key player, going 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Chavez dropped their record down to 0-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Verdugo Hills, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-13 record.

Chavez will square off against Arleta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chavez has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Verdugo Hills, they will challenge North Hollywood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Verdugo Hills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
