Volleyball Recap: Maya Soungpradith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Olentangy over Bellbrook

Olentangy was the 3-1 winner over Bellbrook when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Braves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles on Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 15-25, 25-16.

Olentangy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Soungpradith, who had 16 digs and two assists. Soungpradith is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alivia Franzel, who had 17 assists and five digs.

Olentangy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bellbrook, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Olentangy has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Centerville on the 23rd. As for Bellbrook, they will host Ursuline Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
