Winning always takes teamwork, but on Wednesday Luke Bailey stepped things up a notch to give Granite Hills the 'W'. Bailey didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Bailey's strong effort led Granite Hills over Helix and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are 8-2 against the Highlanders going back to April of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
