Baseball Recap: Lamar Consolidated Comes Up Short

Lamar Consolidated managed to slip by Randle the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Lions on Friday, falling 12-4. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 10-9.

Sam Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Randall Sosnowski, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lamar Consolidated's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Randle, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lamar Consolidated is set to challenge their familiar foe Victoria East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Randle will take on rival Fort Bend Kempner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
