Basketball Recap: Ludlow Comes Up Short

Ludlow fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Villa Madonna on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Villa Madonna Vikings by a score of 71-69. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Villa Madonna was led to victory by Michael J Popham and Quinn Thomas. Popham on his way to 17 points and eight boards, while Thomas almost dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. That's the most points Thomas has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Meyers, who had eight points along with ten boards and five blocks.

Ludlow's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Villa Madonna, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-24.

Ludlow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Villa Madonna, they will take on Lloyd Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lloyd Memorial will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Villa Madonna surely won't give up without a fight.
